Hysteria2 on a Mac
Hysteria2 runs on QUIC over UDP and is built for lossy links. On the path it looks like encrypted QUIC. You need a server that offers it, from your provider or your own.
1. Install V2Mac
With Homebrew: brew install --cask v2macapp/tap/v2mac. Or use the DMG, and click Open Anyway in System Settings → Privacy & Security the first time. It needs macOS 26 or later on Apple Silicon.
2. Add the server
Press ⌘N and paste your subscription URL or your link. V2Mac reads both hysteria2:// and hy2://. With your own values:
hy2://PASSWORD@server.example.com:443?sni=server.example.com#My%20serverOptional settings
The server editor (⌘E) has the password, Salamander obfuscation, port hopping (ports and interval), SNI, ALPN, a certificate pin and allow insecure. Set them to match your server.
3. Test it the right way
TCP ping shows “n/a” for Hysteria2, because it runs on UDP. That is normal. Use real delay (⌘T), which sends a request through the server.
4. Connect
Double-click the server, then turn on System Proxy or TUN, or point one app at 127.0.0.1:10808.
If it doesn’t connect
Some networks block or slow UDP. Port hopping may help if your server is set up for it. Otherwise try a server on another protocol: V2Mac can test a whole group at once.
